Going on a juice fast can be one of the healthiest things you can do. It’s safer than a regular water fast because you won’t be depriving your body of calories. In fact, there are many people who advise against a pure water fast because you won’t be getting adequate calories and, just as important, you won’t get enough electrolytes. This can be a dangerous situation that can lead to severe healthy problems. Salt, magnesium, potassium, are all essential and drinking plain water is not going to give you any of these. In fact, it can be very dangerous to drink only water (especially distilled water). There are some ways you can deal with this, such as adding pink sea salt, or getting an electorate water. But for all intents and purposes, the best way to do a fast is to simply do a juice fast. You will get calories, as well as minerals, vitamins, enzymes, and electrolytes.
But it is important that you pick the right juicer. You don’t want to just pick any regular juicer, you want to pick one that will remove as much pulp as possible. It’s not simply enough to drink just juice, if you want to drink juice during a fast, it’s important to drink one with as little pulp as possible which means you need to get a juicer that produces the cleanest juice possible.
I would suggest an auger juicer, but especially one with a slow press that has a really fine screen. You should look into one such as the Omega which also has a separate screen that you place over the juicer hopper. Avoid the quick method where you just place the glass right under the spout. You should make sure that you use a juice container and use a separate strainer.
