About Me

Hi My Names Jay!

I started out juicing years ago with a popular juicer that I had seen on TV. It was amazing to make fresh juice from scratch at home. This was before there as a juice bar on every corner and you could buy fresh carrot or kale juice from hip trendy stores.

Some of my big influences on Juicing and Leafy Greens:

  • Jay Kordich- The original Juiceman. King of the infomercials, but also a great advocate for bringing vegetarian, vegan, and raw foods. Here’s a good interview with him.
  • Gary Null is another big infulence. He hosts still a popular radio show on WBAI in NYC.

The machine I had originally purchased was a centrifugal juicer, though at the time I hadn’t a notion about what that meant. All i knew is that it was a machine that would juice up fruits and vegetables.

After a while  I noticed that there was excessive Moisture in the pulp, plus the juice seemed a bit warm sometimes. I ended up researching that and found out that it  was caused by the type of juicer I was using.  Which led me to reading all about different types of juicers.

I decided to put all of that info online for others to read up on and learn about. As the name of the site suggests, I’m big on juicing leafy greens.

But the principal of juicing applies across all fruits and veggies, which is why, for the most part, I recommend using an auger juicer.

Also, as a disclaimer, here is the affiliate disclosure. I don’t recommend items I don’t believe in (which is one reason so many of the really popular juicers are not going to be recommended– I simply don’t think that they are good!)
