Omega 8006 vs 8008: Everything You Need To Know

One of the issues with the Omega juicers is that they have a bit of a confusing terminology. Unlike some brands that use words to differentiate the different models, Omega uses numbers. So, instead of say: The Volt or Trax (to use Chevy cars as an example) you have the 8006 and the 8008.

So, it is a bit confusing when searching online for which Omega juicer you are going to get. And to further complicate things, the Omega 8006 and 8008 juicers are very similar. Not only in name but in look. If you’re looking at the two juicers side by side they are pretty similar.

But they are not exactly the same. There are differences between the two and enough of a difference that I decided that it warranted an article that covered the differences and similarities of the Omega 8006 vs Omega 8008.

It will be a brief article because there is simply not that much of a difference, but I wanted to nevertheless create a list of the main points to consider when choosing which model to buy.

Omega Juicer “Generation Models”

The first thing you need to learn when it comes to the different Omega juicer models is that they are called “Generation”. So, each new model is a new generation is given a new number. For the sake of this article, we will only be discussing two generations: the Omega 8006 and the Omega 8008.  These are two different models but you will oftentimes see them referred to as different generations.

It’s the same thing basically!

One quick thing that I wanted to make note of is that the Omega 8006 actually has two separate designs. One is the South Korean made 8006 and the other is the Chinese made 8006HD. Besides being made in two separate countries, there is a slight difference in design. The HD has the same sort of adjustable cap as the 8008.

Parts Are Not Compatible on Omega 8006 and Omega 8008

One important distinction to realize about the Omega 8006 and the Omega 8008 is that the parts are not compatible. This means that you cannot simply buy the newer model (or Generation) and use the older generation model for spare parts. It won’t work.

Even though both juicers are relatively similar when it comes to style and look, they are different. The filter and screen for one juicer won’t slip in and work with the other.

This is really only an issue for people who are looking to salvage parts from an older machine. I’d suggest against doing that to begin with. It’s not a good idea because it simply is better to always use the stock parts that come with your juicer.

So you can’t cannibalize your old juicer and use the parts with the new one. If you own an Omega 8006 and buy an Omega 8008 the parts won’t swap. Except for the juice collection container.

Omega 8006 vs 8008: What Country Makes Them?

omega 8006 vs 8008

The 8006 is made in South Korea

The 8006 HD is made in China

The 8008 is made in China

This is perhaps one of the biggest differences between the two juicers. South Korea makes the Omega 8006 juicer and I will say that in my opinion South Korean made products are simply better made.

That doesn’t mean that the Omega 8008 which is made in China is not well made. But, there is a reason that people outsource their labor to China. The labor costs are much cheaper. Companies and factories pay workers much less. That’s why so much of the worlds electronics and other cheap products are manufactured in China. Whether that cheap and unskilled labor comes back and influences the end result, that depends.

I will attest that I’ve been using a Korean made juicer for more than a decade and I stand by that endorsement every time I recommend it to someone.

Size and Weight Differences

weight differences Omega 8006 vs 8008

The older generation 8006 is a slightly larger and heavier (by 1 lbs) juicer than the newer model.

While the new model weighs slightly less, and the older model is slightly larger, there are no significant differences between the Omega 8006 and the Omega 8008. For all intents and purposes both juicers are basically the same.

The slight weight and size difference is not something that would ever motivate someone to either buy or not buy these juicers. You would have to take out a measuring tape to determine if they were

Omega 8006 vs 8008: Material Design

There is no significant difference in material design between these two generation models. Both are easy to clean and durable. They both have a nice and attractive chrome look.

Omega 8006 vs 8008: Mesh Screen Differences

The Omega 8008 has a slightly larger mesh screen. This does result in more juice being filtered into the cup. More screen area allows for more liquid to pass through without obstruction. It’s not a huge difference, but it is something that you should take into account when making your purchase.

Both Are Slow Speed and Have The Same RPM

Both the Omega 8006 and 8008 are slow speed juicers and function at an 80 RPM. That number refers to revolutions per minute.

So for that comparison, both juicers will squeeze the juice at the same speed and pressure. There is no significant difference between the two.

Omega 8006 vs 8008: Warranty Comparison

Both of these Omega Juicers have a great warranty. You have over a decade long warranty on both  juicers. The Omega company uses the standard 15 year warranty for their juicers. That’s one of the best in the business.

There are not that many parts involved with these juicers, and honestly if you use them in a normal manner, they are bound to last for years.

Omega 8006 vs 8008: Juice Cap Comparison

The newer generation Omega has a new design for the juice cap. It has a setting that allows you to tighten down and reduce pulp output and maximize juice output.

I’m not a big fan of the “pulp control output juice cap”. I would prefer it if they just designed the juicer to produce maximum juice output. I do not foresee a case when I would want to have less juice and more pulp in my drink. However, if you do want to have the ability to alter the

That said, the Omega 8008 is an improvement in overall juice output over the 8006.

If you get the Omega 8006 HD, then you will get an adjustable cap. The Omega8006HD is different than the regular Omega 8006.

Can You Make Nut Butters as Well as Juice with different Generation Models?

Both models or generations of Omega juicers are able to grind nuts and make nut butter and also other things such as nicecreams (frozen ice-cream using bananas instead of cream and sugar).

When you buy either generation juicer you will get several attachments including the ones that allow you to grind fresh coffee beans, make and extrude pasta, or make nut butters). For instance, here’s a video of a woman making a mixed berry sorbet with her juicer.

Overall Differences: My Thoughts on the Omega 8006 vs Omega 8008

I like the juice cap design that comes with the Omega8008, however, I prefer products that are made in Korea, given the choice.

You can check out the reviews online and see which is more to your liking.  I’m going to link here to the Omega 8006, the Omega 8006 HD and the Omega 8008.
