Is The Omega Juicer Easy To Clean

Since I’ve been on a kick of writing about how to clean your juicer, I decided that I’d cover a particular juicer for this blog post. And what’s a better juicer to cover then the Omega juicer.

Why choose the Omega juicer and discuss if it’s easy to clean? Well, the first and best answer is that the Omega juicer is my number one juicer. It’s my favorite brand of juicer and the one I suggest you go with if you’re serious about changing your life and making healthy fresh cold pressed juice.

So, I wanted to take some time and address any challenges that might arise with the Omega and how you would go about cleaning it. And most importantly, is the Omega juicer easy to clean.

How Do You Clean an Omega Juicer?

Most Omega juicer’s area all pretty easy to clean, some are even self cleaning. However, it’s important to know that when you get a cold pressed juicer you don’t have to worry about heavy invasive cleaning.

For the most part you can clean a cold pressed juicer simply by washing it off under running water.

Remember, cold pressed juicers like the Omega don’t use cutting blades, they used an auger which is easy to clean. All you have to do is remove the juicers washable parts and then place them in the sink and wash them off with running water or else with a scrub sponge or brush.

Omega is known for making cold press juicers. These juicers don’t require that you scrub them to the same degree that a centrifugal juicer does require.

Most omega juicers will come with a cleaning tool. This cleaning tool is similar to a large toothbrush. It’s used to brush off any of the gunk from the auger or filter screen.

If you clean your omega juicer as soon as you are finished using it, then it’s quite simple to do it. The longer you wait to clean your omega juicer, the more difficult it will be because the juice will dry onto the pieces and require longer soaking, or more scrubbing, or putting in the dishwasher.

But if you clean your Omega juicer parts as soon as you’ve finished making a juice, or shortly after, then it’s easy to clean and you can put the juicer back clean and dry.

Can You Put Your Omega in the Dishwasher?

My advice is to always hand wash the omega auger and screen as soon as you’re done using them. It’s so easy it literally takes less than a minute to clean the omega parts.

If you do want to put the omega dishwasher safe parts into the dishwasher, then that’s fine. As long as you are only putting in the removeable parts that are labeled by the company as dishwasher safe.

Remember, the body of the juicer is not ever to be washed. This is where the motor is housed and it’s incredibly important that you don’t ever put it into the washer.

The body of the Omega juicer shouldn’t really get dirty. And therefore you don’t need to clean it in soap and water.

The only time you’ll need to clean it is when some juice splatters on it if you’re transferring juice from one cup to another if you’re making a lot of juice. Otherwise, the main body of the Omega should rarely require any cleaning.

However, if you do want to use the dishwasher on the Omega, you certainly can with certain parts. The manual will tell you exactly which ones you can put into the dishwasher.

Just remember, the main body of the Omega —the large chrome section shown below—should never be submerged in water. Just use a damp paper towel or sponge to clean it occasionally. It’s more to dust it and keep it looking bright and new then to “clean it” because it’s not really going to get dirty.

What’s the Easiest Juicer to Clean?

There are some juicers that are advertised as “self cleaning”. Honestly, I don’t personally see the need for them because I’m so used to quickly disassembling my Omega juicer and cleaning it, which is pretty easy. I spent some time covering the easiest juicers to clean in this review.

However, if you’re someone who doesn’t like to hand wash things then a self cleaning model will speed up your cleaning process.

The best and easiest to clean Omega juicer is the self cleaning vertical model.

I actually recommend this model for people, not because it’s so easy to clean but because it’s a well made vertical model juicer.

I am not going to do a whole review and cover vertical model juicers here, but they are one of the best juicers for anyone who is interested in saving space.

If you’re interested in having a top of the line juicer in your home, then I suggest that you get a model that’s going to not take up a lot of space.

The vertical models that Omega puts out are just as adept at making good clean cold pressed juice, the added benefit that you get when using them is that they are going to save you space and if you get the self cleaning model it’s the most easy to clean juicer you can get.

Do You Use Soap When Cleaning an Omega Juicer?

You can, and you should use soap every once in a while. It’s not a good idea to use soap if you’re not going to really make sure you get the soap off though. You don’t want the taste of the soap to linger on the juicer parts.

The good thing about using a juicer is that you don’t need to use soap every time, especially if you are mindful to clean the juicer soon after you use it.

The real reason to use soap is if you’re looking to get the gunk off of the juicer. And remember, that gunk only lasts on the juicer if you let the juicer sit around and dry off over time.
