Are Breville Juicers Masticating

When you are looking to buy a juicer, the first and most important question you should ask is if the juicer is a masticating juicer. As we’ve covered on this blog in many articles, masticating juicers are superior to regular juicers. In fact, I recently wrote a post which talks about why masticating juciers are better.

So, are Breville juicers masticating juicers or regular juicers? Well, it depends on which model you choose.

For the most part, if you just search for a Breville juicer then you’re going to end up with a regular juice and not a cold press masticating juicer.

However, Breville did end up making one model of juicer that is a masticating juicer. They likely saw that there was a huge public demand for a cold press juicer and set about to make one.

So, while not all Breville juicers are masticating, and in fast most are not. You can find a Breville juicer that is masticating as long as you know where to look.

How Do I Tell if My Juicers A Masticating Model?

The easiest way to tell if you have a masticating juicer is to look and see if it uses an auger.

Some juicers will advertise themselves as being a cold press juicer, but in reality they are not a masticating juicer. It’s a bit of a dishonest form of advertising, but it does happen.

For this reason, I would advise against you using the label of “cold press” juicer to be the be all and end all when searching for a juice. While it’s fine to use that search term and framework when searching only good brands like Omega, Kuving, and Breville, you are going to run into trouble if you if you are buying a random no name brand.

The best (really, the most accurate) way to tell if you are buying a masticating juicer is to see if the juicer uses an auger to extract juice.

If the juicer uses an auger, then it’s a masticating juicer. All other devices are not cold press juicers but rather regular juicers.

Here, for instance, is the Breville Masticating Juicer model:

Why Buy a Masticating Breville vs a Regular Model?

The main reason is that masticating juicers are superior at extracting juice.

There are a few other reasons why you’d want to get the masticating Breville as opposed to a regular Breville juicer. These include:

  • -They are quieter than regular Breville juicers.

The masticating juicer is a much quieter juicer than regular juicers. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying a omega juicer or a Breville, if you buy a juicer it needs to be a masticating juicer if you want a quiet one. Regular juicers are simply too loud.

  • -They are easier to clean.

I’ve covered this extensively in other articles, but it bears repeating here. Anytime you are buying a juicer you should get one that is easy to clean. You don’t want to get a juice that is going to take a long time to clean. It’s just not simple and will take too much time to use.

When a juicer takes too long to clean and use, people end up quitting. That’s the number one reason people fail to realize their fitness goals. So, if you want to really make a change, get fit or lose fat—whatever the case may be—then just get yourself an easy to clean masticating juicer.

Where is the Breville Juicer Made: China?

Yes. You can read up about Breville online. They are designed in Australia, but are made in China.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that they are not great juicers.

My personal favorite (the Omega juicer) is made in South Korea. However, most juicers and most kitchen appliances in general are not made anywhere except China.

China does make good products. My main advice would be to only stay away from food products from china. That’s why I always say to skip protein and vitamins that are made in China.

China has a history of spiking children’s formula, pet food, and even protein powders have come under scrutiny.

But if you are buying an appliance, then it’s not a big issue. Many things from laptops to digital watches to high performance televisions are made in China.

I suggest that you not worry too much about where the juicer is made. More importantly is if the juicer is a masticating juicer and if the brand is well known and respected.

Breville is a well known and respected brand. And they do happen to make a masticating juiger.

Should You Buy a Breville Masticating Juicer?

Well, that’s a personal choice. I normally don’t recommend that you buy a Breville juicer but that’s because most people are asking about their regular juicer.

If you are asking about their masticating juicer, then that’s a different story.

The juicer gets good reviews and it’s from Breville, which is a quality company. I would read some reviews on Amazon and see if it’s a good fit.

But my first thoughts would be that it is a fine juicer for most people. It’s in the same line as the cheaper model Omega juicers.
